| Saturday September 3, 2005 |
| | Mary Purdy - "Purdy Woman" 2:15 pm - 3:00 pm |
| | | Using physical comedy, music, and improvisation, chameleon Mary Purdy shows the struggles of eight unusual individuals in bizarre situations--herself included--as she attempts to make it through a solo show unscathed. Excerpts from Purdy Woman have been heard on the NPR radio program "The Next Big Thing," and Purdy Woman received the Leonardo Da Vinci award from Beaux Arts Society in the "Solo Theatrical Performance" category. She has been a solo performer for 10 years. |
| | Seattle Mime Theatre - Sidney Snoop - Ace Detective 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm |
| | | Put on by Seattle Mime Theatre, "Sidney Snoop--Ace Detective" is a mystery /comedy / adventure performance. A teenage icon, Jack, mysteriously disappears and the great private detective, Sidney Snoop, is on the case. Twists, turns, clues, close calls, romance, blood--this show's got it all! |
| | Seattle goga - "Girl on Girl Action" 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm |
| | | Seattle goga explore the boundaries of improvisation using character work, song, movement, poetry and gibberish. In fact, anything that can be utilized to creatively challenge and entertain their audiences. NWImprov.com recently named Seattle goga "Best Improv Troupe" at the Seattle Festival of Improv Theatre in 2005. |
| | Lauren Weedman - "Wreckage" 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm |
| | | Lauren Weedman's fast paced, multiple character story revolves around a horrific lie that returns to haunt her as her husband disappears into the desert. "Wreckage" is a dark, autobiographical, and self-deprecating play where "the comedy," according to Weedman, "is in the tragedy." Weedman was recently featured in Best Playwrights of 2003 by Smith and Krauss Publishing, and was a "Daily Show" correspondent on Comedy Central. |
