DESCRIPTION

Mirror Stage Company continues its 07-08 Feed Your Mind season with WEEK #49 of 365 PLAYS/365 DAYS by Suzan-Lori Parks, performing Monday, October 15 thru Sunday, October 21 at 6:30pm at the Rendezvous Grotto. Admission is free.

In November 2002, Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks committed to writing a play a day for 365 days. She produced 365 brilliant, inventive, and brief pieces—each a titled, complete play—ranging in length from a few lines to a few pages.

Mirror Stage Company presents week #49 of the regional premiere of Suzan-Lori Parks’ 365 Days/365 Plays.

Playwright Suzan-Lori Parks is a recipient of a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Award, as well as the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play Topdog/Underdog. She is a playwright, screenwriter and novelist whose plays include Fucking A, Imperceptible Mutabilities in the Third Kingdom (1990 Obie Award), The American Play, Venus (1996 Obie Award), The Death Of The Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, and In The Blood, among others. Her on-screen work includes Spike Lee’s Girl 6 and the adaptation of Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God. Her first novel, Getting Mother’s Body, is published by Random House. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Ms. Parks heads the Dramatic Writing Program at CalArts. She lives in Venice Beach, California, with her husband, blues musician Paul Scher, and their pit bull, Lambchop.

The Rendezvous Grotto is located at 2232 2nd Ave in Belltown. For more information, check Mirror Stage Company’s web site at www.mirrorstage.org or call the MSC Box Office at 206-686-3729.
