DESCRIPTION

Sitting in SAM’s Olympic Sculpture Park the audience listens - with individual sets of headphones - to an audioscape of dialogue and music. Through a swarm of pedestrian traffic, performers are heard before they are seen, slowly revealing themselves to the audience as passers-by remain oblivious. Originally performed in a train station in Melbourne, Australia, small metal objects is the story of 2 invisible men and the ways in which Western culture isolates those who have traditionally been perceived as less productive including the disabled, the unemployed and communities in the third world. Formed in 1987, Back to Back is a pioneering company with a full-time ensemble of 6 actors with intellectual disabilities.

Presented in association with the Seattle Art Museum's Taking the Pulse Series. Special discount for SAM members.

*In the event of rain: bring a raincoat **Off-site event - tickets only available in advance
