DESCRIPTION

Adam Kaminski was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome when he was in the Third grade. Over the next ten years, he became an extraordinary young man who not only graduated from high school and toured the state of New York giving lectures on the benefits of Inclusive Education, he also became a hero to almost everyone he knew including his older sister, Marya. On the morning of October 17, 2002, Adam was found in his mother’s kitchen, killed by a self-inflicted bullet wound.

In this short reading, Marya relays the five days that followed the event and explores the complications of family, Autumn, and forward motion.
