DESCRIPTION

A classic love story is brought up-to-date in one of the most stunning theatrical spectacles of all time. In the turmoil of the Vietnam War, an American soldier and a Vietnamese girl fall in love, only to be separated during the fall of Saigon. Their struggles to find each other over the ensuing years ends in tragedy for her and a fighting chance for the child he never knew he had.

Alain Boublil and Claude-Michael Schönberg (Les Misérables), along with Richard Maltby, Jr. (The Pirate Queen, Ain’t Misbehavin’) collaborate to bring the story of Madame Butterfly to the modern world in a moving testament to the human spirit and a scathing indictment of the tragedies of war.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE INFORMATION: Tacoma Musical Playhouse firmly believes that it is a parent’s right, and responsibility, to fully educate themselves in order to determine the suitability of all materials presented to their own children. In an effort to assist parents in this endeavor, TMP is providing this objective information regarding the upcoming production of Miss Saigon. Although TMP will not refuse the purchase of a child’s ticket to this production, we strongly urge parents to consider the appropriateness of bringing pre-High School aged children to this show. TMP does not recommend this show for patrons aged 13 and younger. This production contains adult subject matter with themes and scenes regarding: sex, violence, war, prostitution and profane language. A full synopsis of this show can be found at www.tmp.org Additional information, including complete show lyrics, can be found all over the internet.
