Short description

More than a story of one boy's daydreams, this tale celebrates the wonderfully blurred line between reality and fantasy that can dwell in all our imaginations.

DESCRIPTION

Ernie is a daydreamer. Well, that doesn’t quite do it justice. Ernie is an illucinator. More than a day dream, more than an illusion—Ernie can make his daydreams, no matter how wild, come to life. Like when he’s reading about the French Resistance and all of a sudden, Nazi soldiers are knocking down his door. Or when Auntie May takes him to the fair, gets in the boxing ring with Kid Saracen, and Ernie turns Auntie into the Heavyweight Champ!

Mum and Dad try to allay this fantastical behaviour by taking Ernie to the nice, quiet library. What sort of excitement could happen in a library, after all? The vagabond in the corner becomes a secret agent and a librarian a mountain climber, that’s all.

How can Ernie’s parents cope with this special gift of his—I guess they’ll just have to jump into the illucination with him.
