DESCRIPTION
theater simple's award-winning adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale THE SNOW QUEEN has a one-week ONLY pre-holiday run at the Bathhouse.
In THE SNOW QUEEN, Gerda simply journeys out into the wide, wide world to find her friend.
It’s the adventures along the way that get complicated…
“Listen! This is the beginning. And when we get to the end, you will know more than you do now.”
So begins Hans Christian Andersen’s tale THE SNOW QUEEN, a story of Gerda and her journey to find her lost friend, Kai. There are devious devils, self-absorbed flowers, talking crows, a ferocious robber band, not to mention princesses –
Oh! and The Snow Queen herself, the catalyst for the whole adventure.
Five actors + one story of seven parts = chaos, invention and magic….
This summer, hundreds of people followed the site-specific GERDA’S JOURNEY and it’s cast of over a dozen performers through parks in Kent, Seattle, and Duvall, or got to watch it at Bumbershoot. NOW, the simpletons have pared it back to its essence, and FIVE actors.
theater simple has crafted an evocatively beautiful show with a raucously smart sensibility
that speaks to all ages. Fairy tales: Not just for kids…
ONE WEEK ONLY! November 20-23 at the Bathhouse Theater 7312 W. Green Lake Dr. N., Seattle, WA 98103
Got kids? We're not scared of them - bring us your youngsters, or your teens, or the grandparents that refuse to grow up. BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY - the adults will laugh, the children will be charmed, and we'll see who gets all the humor...
Don't have kids? Most of us don't either. We wrote the show for US (that also means YOU) - it just happens that young people LOVE this show. If you want, borrow some from the neighbor to bring along, but don't feel obligated.
