Target Family Day 2008 event

 Family Day 2008

Target Family Day: October 18, 2008

Come Out & Play!  Theatre Puget Sound hosts Live Theatre Week, your official all-access pass to our region’s performing arts!

On Target Family Day, participating theatres offer complimentary activities and performances that the whole family can enjoy.  Share the magic and imagination of live theatre with your children.

****************

Book-It All Over presents a special Family Day performance of their adaptation of La Mariposa by Francisco Jimenez.

This autobiographical story is presented bilingually, celebrating the many forms of self-expression.

11am at Theatre4 (located on the 4th floor of the Seattle Center House)

LA MARIPOSA by Francisco Jimenez
Francisco is the son of Mexican migrant farmers, and is just starting the first grade. Because he doesn't speak English and can't understand his teacher, Francisco finds himself drawn to the caterpillar that lives in a jar near his desk. Entranced by the caterpillar's transformative powers, Francisco draws a picture of what he imagines it will look like when it finally bursts from its cocoon. Follow Francisco on this journey from isolation and confusion to freedom and friendship.
