What do you get when a precocious mouse and a kind boy spend an afternoon together? Cookie crumbs, spilled milk, and a whole lot of fantastic physical comedy that will have you rolling in the aisles.

DESCRIPTION
It all begins so simply…
A day like any other. Boy decides to stay home when his mom goes to visit Aunt Rose. It’s only a few hours and he does have the new Jungleman of the Amazon comic, after all. With a bag of cookies and a good spot in the yard to read, everything seemed about perfect. And then…He came. Mouse. He may be adorable but he is full of questions. And energy. And he’s hungry. What can Boy do but give Mouse a cookie? Wouldn’t you do the same thing? But, if you give a Mouse a cookie, he’s going to want a glass of milk.
Of course, nothing with Mouse is that simple. Boy must rummage around and find Mouse a straw. Now, for Mouse this straw sure is big, which just makes it more fun for Mouse to use. From the napkin for his mouth to the mirror at which he’ll cut his hair to the frenzied escapade with a broom sweeping up that hair, Mouse has good intentions but a real knack for chaos. This calls for a good ol’ fashioned nap. Just as soon as Boy tells Mouse a bedtime story that is. But the story just sets Mouse’s imagination into overdrive, ready to take on the Amazon Jungle adventure for himself. After that excitement, the logical thing to do is draw a picture and hang it on the fridge. Doesn’t that sound simple? Yeah, just like scaling a mountain is simple. This is one determined Mouse, however. And one patient Boy.
You know, all this excitement can sure make a Mouse thirsty. And what goes better with a glass of cold milk than a cookie?!
A note from Artistic Director, Linda Hartzell:
A celebration of physical comedy, much like our productions of Go, Dog. Go!; Peter and the Wolf; and Busytown, that showcases the joy and endless possibilities when you relish the unexpected. This play, as the book from which it is adapted, is a wonderful way for parents and kids to connect, to share the love of literature and fun.
