Our Mission
Seattle Public Theater at the Bathhouse is a professional theater dedicated to creating community through the performing arts.

Seattle Public Theater’s commitment:
Ø To produce theater of the highest quality;

Ø To provide an engaging educational experience for people of all ages;

Ø To build and strengthen our Greenlake neighborhood; and

Ø To inspire an exploration of ideas, cultures and community.

To fulfill its mission, Seattle Public Theater at the Bathhouse has a vital Mainstage Season of top quality plays and a Youth Theater Program that expands the horizons of students through training by professional theater artists.
MORE ABOUT THEATRE
History: SPT and the Bathhouse at Greenlake
Founded in 1988, Seattle Public Theater, was originally a small company which primarily toured plays in the public schools and, using theater techniques based on the work of Augusto Boal, developed a Theater of Liberation program which worked with adults and at-risk youth. In 2000, SPT was chosen by the City of Seattle in a competitive bidding process to be the resident theater company at the Bathhouse. Since then we have continued offering four mainstage shows each year, expanded our Summer Youth Program to year round classes and break camps, and continue to steward the Bathhouse as a community resource, opening it to other arts organizations and community groups.
