MISSION STATEMENT
To foster, promote and unite members of the community with the performing arts through the rehearsal process, performances and classes. To give families an alternative to come and experience live theater.
MORE ABOUT THEATRE
UPAC Theatre Group began as United Performing Arts Company in the summer of 1999, a small group of people (4) who loved theater and wanted to share it with the community in the Ballard/Crown Hill area. We began with three performances of The Importance of Being Earnest, and soon discovered we could have performed it many more times.

Since that time we have done a show every summer in August, with auditions in May. Our past shows include, besides "Earnest", "Once is Enough" by Jack Sharkey; "Arsenic & Old Lace", by Joseph Kesselring; "The Hound of the Baskervilles", adaptation by Tim Kelly; "Murder's Bad, but Monday Can Kill You!" by Pat Cook; "You Can't Take It With You", by Hart & Kaufman; "The Voice of the Prairie" by John Olive; "The Curious Savage" by John Patrick; and "Three Murders and It's Only Monday", also by Pat Cook.

UPAC Theatre Group is community theater. UPAC wants to continue to provide an outlet for actors and backstage personnel a safe place to come and do their art. Our volunteer staff consists of 7 people; we also mentor high school interns with interests in various aspects of theater. UPAC has had a range of experienced people in the cast, from very experienced to the novice. Each cast molds itself to work with each other as a family and helps each member grow in their art. It's a nurturing environment, where challenging one another to go farther in their art is natural. People say, "The play's the thing", but it's really the rehearsal process that we love the most.

Now in our 10th Year, we are slowly starting to expand our season by adding a Spring One-Act show. Who knows where we will go next?! But we know it will be a fun journey!
