MISSION STATEMENT
Key City Public Theatre fosters artistic expression that entertains, educates, and engages our community by developing an accessible and relevant theatre that produces new works, contemporary plays, and innovative interpretations of classics that captivate, challenge, and celebrate our audiences and artists.
MORE ABOUT THEATRE
In 2008, Key City Public Theatre (formerly Key City Players) celebrates 50 years as Port Townsend and Jefferson County's premier community theatre. Our year-round programming reaches 6,000 audience members annualy, due to the efforts of 400+ volunteers both on and off stage. In 2005 we hired a full-time artistic director, Denise Winter, and in 2006 we began planning for a new 150-seat theatre to triple our capacity and better serve our community. In 2007-08 we remodeled our current 46-seat playhouse to add 20 more seats and a proper lobby. This will accommodate our overflow audiences much more comfortably and allow KCPT needed room to grow.
